Sound and Vision: Connecting Today’s Hybrid Workforces via Company-Facing Branded Podcasts
Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2021 Report found that roughly 7 in 10 employees are struggling or suffering, rather than thriving, in their overall lives. Eighty percent are not engaged or are actively disengaged at work. This lack of engagement costs the global economy US$8.1 trillion, nearly 10% of GDP, in lost productivity each year.
When most people think of podcasts, they think of public-facing conversations. Few think of them – let alone use them – to communicate with the workforce, where they have the potential to give company leadership an effective communications channel, as podcasts lend themselves to more personal and meaningful “conversations” – particularly critical at a time when leaders are looking to be more connected with and attuned to the needs of their teams.
One of the challenges in this post-pandemic world is sustaining a coherent company culture with so much of the workforce working remotely. An internal podcast that addresses all these issues in an authentic, readily accessible, even fun way can bring together all the disparate elements of your workforce.
Our podcast production team can deliver a customized 25-30 minute “employee-facing” podcast that includes:
- A 3-minute intro where podcast host announces company news.
- 10-minute lead interview with company leadership.
- 12-minute interview that puts a spotlight on a company employee.
- 90-second close.
We develop a branded “sound template” (customized intro and close), arrange all interviews, handle all pre-production elements (create interview questions, prepare guests), handle the hosting/moderation, and deliver a polished 30-minute podcast (weekly or bi-weekly) that can be made available for internal streaming or downloading.
Our production team is helmed by popular podcast host Charles Epstein, who produces and hosts WorldatWork’s Work in Progress podcast, and the EAPA Podcast (for the Employee Assistance Professionals Association), and his long-time creative partner, Tom Alexander, an award-winning, nationally syndicated broadcaster, recording artist, widely sought-after voice-over specialist, and host/producer of a number of podcasts, including the RV Podcast and JazzRocks.
We’d be happy to discuss how we can help you design and produce a podcast that engages your workforce around a host of pressing company issues and critically important wellbeing issues and does it in a way that’s aligned with – indeed, is a central expression of – your company’s culture and values.
